This afternoon I took a break from working on graduate school related stuff and headed over to Bear Maker Bakery, a locally owned and run bakery that specializes in homestyle creations. They supply to local coffeehouses and business while also making orders for individuals like myself.

I headed over to their bakery facility located in the Midtown area and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Brandon Tidwell, and picked up 2 dozen cookies that included a mixture of their favorite flavors.

This above picture is one of the many different cookie platters you can order from the bakery. I immediately headed over to Nathan’s hospital with WARM and AMAZINGLY SMELLING cookies. I visited with Nathan for a bit and before I left, all the cookies were gone! I will definitely use Bear Maker Bakery again for their delicious cookies or possibly order one of their many other sweet creations.

Road Trip

Posted by fsumeg1884 on August 12, 2012

Well, my Fall 2012 semester is officially done! Only one more semester till graduation and my board examination then I can finally become a Family Nurse Practitioner!

Nathan and I got back from our 36 hour world wind road trip to Jacksonville, FL at near almost 11pm. We headed down there for 1 night to see and celebrate his brother’s work internship graduation.  It was a quick trip but so great to see Ben and their parents.

Any time Nathan and I are traveling we always try to stop at local places to eat and we found 2 great places during our trip to Jacksonville.

http://www.burritogallery.com/ located in downtown Jacksonville, a casual  place open for lunch till late night. They serve mix and max tacos, burritos, deli wraps, salads, and lots of other yummy stuff.

Kickbacks Gastropub- if you like hanging out with friends, cold beer, and decent food than Kickbacks is your place. Nathan and I met Ben there for dinner just after we rolled into town. A very laid back eclectic local place that is a definite must stop for any beer lover.

After my late night I was a little slow-moving this morning but after a few cups of coffee I headed out for an easy run with no agenda and came back refreshed with 6 miles under my belt. The rest of my lazy Saturday consisted of driving around Atlanta picking up gift cards for family Christmas presents. Yes, I know gift cards can be a lame present but when your running out of time and ideas it gets the job done. After I am finished with all my Christmas shopping it will be onto the real challenge, the post office………wish me luck!
